What are some common pitfalls in conversion rate optimisation?

There are a few common pitfalls that can occur when trying to improve your website's conversion rate. Here are a few of the most common ones:

1. Not Defining Your Goals

Before you start trying to improve your conversion rate, you need to first define what your goals are. Are you looking to increase sales, leads, or something else? Without a clear goal in mind, it will be difficult to measure your success and know what areas to focus on.

2. Not Tracking Your Current Conversion Rate

If you don't know what your current conversion rate is, then it will be difficult to improve upon it. Make sure to track your conversion rate so that you can see how your changes are impacting it.

3. Not Testing Your Changes

Before you start making changes to your website, you need to test them first. Otherwise, you could end up making your conversion rate worse. Try A/B testing to see how your changes impact your conversion rate.

4. Not Making Enough Changes

If you make small changes here and there, you're not likely to see a big impact on your conversion rate. You need to make significant changes in order to see a difference.

5. Not Persisting

Conversion rate optimisation is an ongoing process, not a one-time thing. In order to see sustained results, you need to keep track of your conversion rate and continually make changes.

CRO & UX are a big field, it can be difficult to know where to start 🤔

Most of the guides out there are either too long, too short, or generalize things so much that they do not help you at all.

My free workbook will help you create your own plan for CRO success by showing you how other companies have done it successfully and what went wrong with their strategy to learn from their mistakes. The book is free, as I believe knowledge should be shared! The book has already helped several companies.
