How do you prioritize conversion rate optimization goals?

There is no silver bullet when it comes to prioritizing conversion rate optimization (CRO) goals. The best approach is to start with a solid understanding of your customer’s needs and what they value most. Once you have a good handle on that, you can begin to prioritize your CRO goals.

A few factors to keep in mind when prioritizing CRO goals include:

  • The impact of the goal on the bottom line: What is the potential return on investment (ROI) of achieving the goal?
  • The difficulty of achieving the goal: How difficult will it be to implement the changes necessary to achieve the goal?
  • The importance of the goal to the customer: How important is the goal to the customer? Is it something they’re likely to care about?

With those factors in mind, here are a few tips for prioritizing CRO goals:

  1. Start with easy wins

There’s no point in chasing after goals that are difficult to achieve and have a low ROI. Instead, start with goals that are relatively easy to achieve and have a high ROI. These “easy wins” will help you get quick results and build momentum.

  1. Prioritize goals that align with your business goals

Your CRO goals should align with your business goals. That way, you can ensure that the efforts you’re putting into CRO are actually moving the needle for your business.

  1. Consider the customer’s needs

As we mentioned before, it’s important to consider the customer’s needs when prioritizing CRO goals. After all, the goal of CRO is to improve the customer experience. Therefore, prioritize goals that will have the biggest impact on the customer experience.

  1. Test, test, test

Finally, remember that experimentation is key in CRO. Don’t be afraid to test different approaches and see what works best for your business. What works for one business might not work for another, so it’s important to find what works best for you.

CRO & UX are a big field, it can be difficult to know where to start 🤔

Most of the guides out there are either too long, too short, or generalize things so much that they do not help you at all.

My free workbook will help you create your own plan for CRO success by showing you how other companies have done it successfully and what went wrong with their strategy to learn from their mistakes. The book is free, as I believe knowledge should be shared! The book has already helped several companies.
